About me
My name is Klaus Krause.
I live in Gelsenkirchen, Northrhine-Westfalia.
About 30 years ago, I started collecting minerals and fossils because of some
specimens of Trepca that were
given to me as a gift.
This started my interest and I studied at evening school, read a lot of literatue,
became a member of a mineral
association called VFMG and got in contact with other collectors.
My main interest lies in regional minerals as I gave up collecting fossils for
space reasons.
In over 30 years, more or less regularly, I searched in various quarries, dumps
and mines for minerals.
I still do regular excursions with enthusiasm.
My present collection consists however not only of regional minerals.
I also collect aesthetic, beautiful and interesting mineral specimens from all
over the world.
In addition to that I possess an extensive Baryte collection, a mineral collection
from the Ruhr mining industry
as well as an alpine mineral collection which I gathered during numerous alpine
excursions.
In the past I sold doubles in my collection at various mineral fairs.
Since these fairs became too time consuming and costly, I decided to offer minerals
via the Internet.
Consciously I do not use so called Shop software. I do photograph all specimens
for my hompage and
update it regularly.
The offered minerals I buy at mineral fairs, such as Saint Marie aux Mine( France),
Munich , Hamburg
and others, some
wholesale dealers and other collectors.
Regional specimens I find on my excurssions.
